Keelvar is a software vendor that emerged from UCC's Insight Centre. Keelvar allows
large enterprises to run large competitive bid events when they are buying goods or
services. The winner determination problem in these negotiations are instances of
Weighted Set Packing problems and require combinatorial optimization to clear the
auctions. Keelvar has also developed Bots to automate the usage of Keelvar's
sourcing tool so that fully automated bid events can be instantiated, operated and
closed without human intervention. Customers include Daimler, Coca-Cola, Siemans and
Primark and over $60bn in supplier spend is negotiated through Keelvar annually.
Keelvar is HQ'ed in Cork and employs computer scientists to work on challenges
related to Optimization and AI for autonomous systems.
