The 2019 Irish Collegiate Programming Competition will be held on Saturday March 9th, 2019.
The UCC ACM Student Chapter will host the 10th annual Irish Collegiate Programming Competition (IrlCPC) on Saturday the 9th of March 2019. Each team of competitors will tackle a problem set that tests their problem solving, numeracy and computer programming skills.
This competition is not for novice programmers but those who have a passion for programming.
Team members will have one computer between them to solve a set of problems within 4 hours. Difficulty of the problems varies from simple course work level, to challenging (ACM competition level). There will be no Internet access for the duration of the competition.
Teams can choose to use Python 3, Go, C, C++, Haskell, Java, and C# for the competition. All programs will be evaluated under Linux, so C# will be run using mono.
Teams should be composed of a maximum of 3 students, of which at most 2 can be postgraduate students.
Registration is now open, register your team before the deadline of February 20th.
Each team is required to pay a registration fee of €45 online via PayPal. A link is provided after the submission of the registration form.
Make sure that the person paying with is one of the competitors. The email must match with one of the people in the team.
Lunch will be provided on the day.
The competition will take place from 9:30am - 6:30pm in the Western Gateway Building, University College Cork, Western Road, Cork, which is a 15 minute walk from Cork City Centre.
The number 208 travels from Cork City Centre and stops on the Western Road next to the Western Gateway Building. The number 205 bus travels from Kent Train Station and stops at Brookfield which is a short walk from the Western Gateway Building across a footbridge.
